Stop. Drop. Roll.

At 10 am a fire drill was initiated. Lights, sirens, walkie talkies, all but the fire sprinklers. The blood drive was temporary halted - donors held their arms and juice boxes to respective safety zones. There were no casualties only a few disgruntled students/staff being shooed away by campus police from "burning buildings" and/or having restroom privileges withheld in excess of 30 minutes.

I started the day with the least of healthy breakfasts: strong coffee
on an empty stomach, which later I sought after something to neutralize
the caffeine-induced hyperactivity and twitching. Considering the bill of
$2.34 (coffee), I decided to ease my nerves and stomach with a hearty
bagel sans Philadelphia ($1.00 plain, $0.30 extra for cream cheese).
After examining the acrylic bread box, it seemed the most fulfilling and
best bang for the buck of the variety was the jalapeño and parmesan.
I ate the bagel holding it with a paper wax sheet avoiding any contact
with the potentially fart-smelling cheese.
After a few bites and wipes of a napkin, my mouth began to burn
almost radiating like sunbaked asphalt. I found it ironic to see myself
sitting in front of a fire hose and water fountain, which I am reluctant to
use after hearing lab results from our biology department.
My eyes welled up while debating to opt for the hose
and

hefty

fine.
That was long.

8:04 - 8:09pm . Garage
Cutting down some overgrown palm leaves I found this pod resembling
a piece of sports equipment from a sort of game broadcasted on ESPN 5,
right after the National Underwater Basket Weaving Championships

The texture and grain is mesmerizing

I was in class finished with the quiz. The instructor left. The sounds of tapping pencils, scribbling pens, whispers, volleying questions and answers took his place. I opened the fresh, bare hardcover of the collected stories - I tore off the provocative cover of a naked Barbie’s lower torso that made me red faced from glancing passerbys.
